This is the most beautiful painting! I feel lucky and blessed that I came across it! My husband and I honeymooned in Mo’orea and we had taken many pictures in front of this church. To find that Greg Collins painted it was such a joy! We will treasure it forever!

I was super-pleased with my photo print purchase! Like many people, I’m sure, when making online purchases there’s always just a little voice of skepticism in the back of my mind. I knew I liked the image, but had to roll the dice that it would look good in person, the frame would be adequate, etc. I must say it exceeded even my hopeful expectations! First of all, the packing was stellar. The photo print did look great in person, and the framing was WAY better than I was expecting! It was ready to go with a sturdy hanging wire already in place. Unfortunately it was a gift, so I don’t have a photo of it on my wall! I did, however, open and inspect it before wrapping it and re-shipping (in the same stellar packing!). I would easily recommend FineArtAmerica and will happily shop with them again in the future…worry free!

This botanical rose painting reached me as a scanned digital file. It was painted by Pancrace Bessa (1772 -1846, a French natural history artist best known for his botanical illustrations. I've altered it here by rendering it as a digital watercolor with enhanced color depth, livened up with some added color splashes while retaining the old-fashioned character. I also offer a version with a white background as in the original painting.
About Western Exposure
I'm a smallholder and wordsmith living on the edge of Europe in the West of Ireland. I have always been creative on some front, be it craftwork, woodwork, pottery or textiles and in recent years have begun to create digital artwork and designs, either from scratch in Photoshop or from photographs taken with my preloved Canon EOS 60D DSLR. Being tied down by the farm - bar the odd holiday in Portugal (I'm a western seaboard girl...) - much of my work draws on my immediate (and rustic) surroundings, from plants to farm animals, landscapes and skies, textures and surfaces of buildings or implements. I often combine these into digital abstracts with a fairly strong bent towards nature's colors and distressed grunge textures. Lately I have also...
